Recycling waste water

Koole was commissioned by a client in the agricultural sector to empty their purification system using a vacuum truck. Following a tear in the filtration fabric of the system, a large quantity of bio balls—used to treat contaminated water—had ended up in the tank.​

​Bio balls serve to increase the internal surface area of the purification system, thereby enhancing its capacity to filter and treat polluted water. ​

“They are made of plastic and designed with a large surface area—often featuring ridges or a honeycomb structure—allowing microorganisms to attach themselves. These microbes then break down organic material and contaminants present in the water”.​

Once the treatment process is complete, the wastewater can be safely discharged into the sewer system.​ The client requested our vacuum truck to remove the bio balls efficiently, allowing them to clear the system within just a few days and resume normal operations shortly thereafter.​
