Oil Refinery

A former oil refinery is being redeveloped into a Green Energy Hub (GEH) to support the decarbonization of the local industrial cluster. The refinery once processed 110,000 barrels of crude oil daily.

Early this year, Koole began demolishing the refinery, dismantling all above-ground structures and removing underground infrastructure up to 2 meters deep. Explosives were used for larger installations by a specialized partner.
